In 2014, Vera Lutter was invited by the Museum of Modern Art to photograph their sculpture garden and the works inside it. Lutter photographs of the garden were realized by turning the MoMA’s Celeste Bartos Film Study Center into a large camera obscura. Using steamer trunks fashioned as portable camera obscuras, Lutter photographed the individual sculptures inside the garden. Works from this project have since been published in Oasis in the City: The Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Sculpture Garden at The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA, 2018).
